Dis-advantages of using cloth pads

Cloth pads, also known as reusable pads, are a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to disposable menstrual products. However, they also have some disadvantages that should be considered before deciding to choose them. In this article, we will discuss some of the disadvantages of using cloth pads.

Washing:
Cloth pads require washing after each use, which can be inconvenient for some women. They need to be washed with hot water and detergent, which can be time-consuming and may require a separate load of laundry.

Drying time:
Cloth pads take longer to dry than disposable pads, especially in humid or rainy weather which paves way for development of bacteria. This can be a problem if you have a limited supply of pads or need them to dry quickly.

Odor:
Cloth pads can develop odor over time, especially if they are not washed and dried properly. This can be embarrassing and may require extra effort to maintain hygiene.

Bulkiness:
Cloth pads are generally thicker and bulkier than disposable pads, which can be uncomfortable for some women. This may make it difficult to wear tight-fitting clothing or participate in certain activities.

Cloth pads have more disadvantages that should be considered before deciding to choose them. They require washing after each use, can become stained over time, take longer to dry, can develop bad bacteria,  can develop an odor, may be bulkier than disposable pads and are more expensive.
